Description

Under the direction of the Transportation Shift Supervisor, the Transportation Shift Lead is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and effective daily operations of the Transportation Department. This role serves as a key liaison between management and drivers, providing operational support, communicating departmental objectives, and maintaining high service standards.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor department email and cell phone to coordinate transportation services for guests, VIPs, and entertainment personnel. Manage all off-property transportation needs during the assigned shift, either by completing the runs or assigning a qualified driver.
• Conduct on-the-job training and orientation for new drivers. Provide refresher training as needed and ensure all drivers are informed of current policies and procedures.
• Accurately complete and submit all required shift documentation, including shift logs, fuel usage reports, attendance records, headcounts, and incident reports.
• Actively monitor radio communications to stay informed of any incidents or updates involving department personnel.
• Perform regular customer service and safety evaluations of drivers, offering constructive feedback to support their professional development.
• Assess staffing needs throughout the shift and provide shuttle driving coverage as necessary, including during driver breaks, lunches, and when short-staffed.
• Identify and address any potential issues that may disrupt the work environment, escalating concerns to the Transportation Supervisor as appropriate.
• Oversee the cleanliness and condition of all shuttles and the transportation office.
• Inspect shuttles for mechanical issues and report any concerns promptly to the Transportation Supervisor.
• Communicate departmental goals and assist drivers in developing effective strategies to meet performance targets.
• Complete required e-learning assignments and monitor drivers' training progress to ensure compliance with established deadlines.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
• Additional duties as assigned and necessary.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, and/or ability required.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience: 1-2 years of progressively responsible experience in transportation related field; Knowledge of transportation legislation state and federal as it applies.

Class II or III Casino experience preferred.

Proficient in MS Office (Excel/Word)

Licenses/Certifications:

Key positions require knowledge and application of Title 31 reporting requirements.

Valid Oklahoma Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a passenger endorsement.

Must have the ability to pass comprehensive background check, drug test, and obtain gaming license as required.

Must satisfy DOT Medical requirements for Commercial Drivers; inclusive of:

• Vision must be 20/40 in each eye with/without correction; Peripheral vision> 70 degrees on a horizontal plane; ability to identify color signals (red, green and amber).
• No clinical diagnosis of diabetes mellitus requiring insulin for control
• No clinical diagnosis of epilepsy.
• Hearing loss no> 40 dB in the "better" ear.

Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, work at heights, raise/reach arms overhead and work effectively whilst doing so. Must also be able to maneuver, bend down, pick up, and get in and out of a variety of on-site vehicles. Must be able to stand long periods of time. Has ability to lift and carry at least 45 lbs. Ability to maneuver in all areas of casino, frequent ascent/descent from bus stairs, travel to various on/off site venues, which may involve elevation changes in surfaces. Visual acuity to discern and examine text, graphics, color and symmetry. Speech to communicate clearly, express ideas and convey information in an understandable manner. Ability to hear for listening comprehension and to understand ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and examine documents, records and files.
