Facilities Services Leader.

Duties The Facilities Services Leader is responsible for performing a variety of duties in zone to support overall facility maintenance; work including performing heavy manual tasks and maintaining facility cleanliness. The Facility Services Leader may be required to work late shifts, weekends and holidays. In This Position, You Will Lead a team of Building Service Workers/Facilities Services Workers performing tasks involving physical labor and equipment operations as well as performing general custodial duties. Check work in progress and when completed to ensure supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods, and deadlines have been met. Provide input to supervisor on performance appraisals and position descriptions and additional on the job training requirements for individual employees. Notify supervisor or leader of apparent defects in building and exhibit systems, such as, but not limited to, leaks, cracks, breaks, unusual smells, etc. as well as apparent safety hazards. Physical Requirements This position requires the physical ability to perform moderately heavy work including lifting and carrying heavy objects up to 50 lbs.; work outside in all weather conditions with exposure to dirt, dust, pollen and insects; climb ladders and stairs; and stand and walk for extended periods. Qualification requirements, including one year time-in-grade at the next lower grade level for promotion candidates, must be met within 30 days of the job announcement closing date.
