Dental Hygienist

Overview Blue Ridge Health is currently seeking a Dental Hygenist to be part of our Dental Team. What You'll Do: Performs duties of a dental hygienist by completing dental prophylaxis; providing oral radiographic studies; charting conditions of decay and disease; performing procedures in compliance with dental standard practice. Responsibilities include: Completes dental prophylaxis by cleaning deposits and stains from teeth and from beneath gum margins. Responsible for the preparation and setting up of materials necessary for each procedure. Detects potential disease by using probes to locate periodontal disease and assess levels of recession Assist in managing dental emergencies Mechanical polishing of the coronal portion of the teeth Application of desensitizing agents Whitening of the coronal portion of the teeth using tray-based systems; including the application of a dam if required for these tray-based systems Application of desensitizing agents Responsible for following all OSHA Standards, sterilization of instruments, and the cleaning and routine maintenance of the clinic and equipment. What We're Looking For: High school diploma or equivalent required. Certification/Licensure Specific Requirements: Must Maintain CPR Certification Dental Radiology Certification Knowledge of dental terminology Bilingual preferred, but not required. If bilingual, provides language support services, as requested, based on patient and clinic needs.
