Diesel Mechanic – Caterpillar Heavy Equipment

Position Summary:
GLS Staffing is seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic with strong knowledge of Caterpillar 320 excavators , diesel engines, and hydraulic systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy construction equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose issues in diesel engines and related components.
• Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and tune-ups.
• Repair or replace faulty parts, including fuel systems, brakes, electrical systems, and hydraulic components.
• Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar 320 excavators and other heavy equipment.
• Use diagnostic tools and manual testing methods to identify mechanical failures.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance performed.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and environmental regulations.
• Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding equipment status, repairs, and parts requirements.
• Stay current on new diesel technology, Caterpillar equipment updates, and repair techniques.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic working on heavy equipment.
• Experience with Caterpillar 320 excavators required.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and heavy equipment troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Experience using diagnostic and testing equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Valid driver's license preferred.
