Sr Analyst, Business Intelligence

This role offers analytically-minded candidates the opportunity to be a part of one of T-Mobile’s fastest-growing divisions—T-Mobile for Business. As a Sr. Analyst of Data Quality and Governance, you will collaborate with TFB Analytics and Reporting, TFB Operations, and our Enterprise Technology Services teams to:Identify and explore data sourcesAlign proposed changes to application data models with the enterprise data modelDesign source system data transformations for the data warehouse,Research data quality issues, identify root causes, engage with system, process, and data owners to apply corrective actionsDevelop and maintain monitoring reports and processes to measure and maintain data quality across key systems and the data warehouseDocument your findings and propose updates to data models and data dictionariesYou will work closely with the data warehouse development team to ensure data quality is a foundational component of the ongoing DWH, Data Mart, and Data Cube operations. You must be experienced at querying, exploring and ingesting data from a wide variety of data platforms (including Oracle, Microsoft SQL and Azure, Teradata, and Salesforce.com) and query languages (various forms of SQL, SOQL, and APIs), using Azure Data Factory or Databricks (Data Flow and pySpark), often in the absence of a complete data dictionary. This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Business Analysis on the Data Governance & Platforms team.At least 18 years of ageLegally authorized to work in the United StatesHigh School Diploma or GEDT-Mobile requires all employees in this position to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to starting work. T-Mobile will require proof of vaccination and consider requests for exemption from this requirement during the offer phase as a reasonable accommodation for medical reasons or sincerely held religious beliefs where the accommodation would not cause T-Mobile undue hardship or pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others.Minimum 4-7 years’ experience with SQL (Transact-SQL preferred), designing and implementing ETL for Data Warehousing (preferably Databricks, but SSIS experience acceptable), and metrics reporting.Highly proficient in SQL and direct work experience with pySpark, python, or other scripting languages. Must be willing to become proficient in pySpark and Databricks.Proficiency and direct work experience with PowerBI for data visualization development (report development).Have a solid understanding of Data Quality and Data Modeling concepts.Excellent communication skills with experience collaborating with various functional teams.Proficient in Microsoft Office.Bachelor’s degree or professional equivalent required.At least 18 years of age.Legally authorized to work in the United States.Desire to learn.DesiredCross-functional collaboration with sales operations, commissioning, marketing, and/or billing data.Technical writing experience and skills in producing clear deliverables.Identify source systems and explore application data structures.Explore, understand, and document the processes and context by which the data is generated, stored, maintained, moved, transformed, and combined to capture data lineage and business rules, assure proper interpretation, and maintain data quality.Design and implement business rules and transformations to incorporate source system data into the data warehouse, data marts, and analytical cubes to support business metrics and analysis.Write ETL, scripts, etc. within the Databricks environment using pySpark and SQL, queries to evaluate, explore and validate the data to identify issues and root causes, and ensure data quality requirements are met.Validate transformations (ETL) and the objects built in the data warehouse and track data quality issues to resolution.Establish data quality metrics and targets, develop data quality dashboards in Power BI, and establish monitoring and corrective actions processes to maintain data quality metrics.Develop and maintain positive working relationships with partner teams in a collaborative team environment, especially when engaging system, process, and data owners, to “own” data quality and take corrective action.Track and report progress against data quality metrics and goals.Develop and maintain documentation on data quality approaches, metrics, and processes.Equal Employment Opportunity We take equal opportunity seriously—by choice.T-Mobile USA, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
