This pharmacist role offers a focused opportunity within acute care pharmacy operations at a major hospital in Springfield, MO. Working primarily in product verification, you will play a key role supporting central pharmacy workflow with a variety of medication checks and inventory management.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize EPIC system to verify and prepare medication products, including IVs, creams, insulin pens, crash carts, and prepackaged items
• Coordinate workflow for central pharmacy during evening shift, ensuring efficiency and accuracy
• Oversee the work of pharmacy technicians on shift by providing guidance and task redirection as needed
• Ensure code carts and medication kits are fully stocked and properly maintained
• Support other pharmacists who primarily focus on order review within the electronic health record

Qualifications:

• Missouri Pharmacist Licensure is required
• Minimum 1 year of pharmacy experience; new graduates are considered
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical record system preferred
• Strong attention to detail and ability to coordinate pharmacy operations effectively

Shift and Assignment Details:

• Evening shift: 2:30 PM to 12:30 AM, 7 days on/7 days off, schedule may vary with guaranteed 36 hours per week
• 13-week contract with strong possibility of extension
• Training period of 2-3 weeks tailored to individual capability

Work Environment:

• Central pharmacy team includes pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to ensure patient safety and efficient medication management
• Candidate will be the primary pharmacist overseeing central workflow during evening hours, collaborating with other clinical pharmacists
