ICU Registered Nurse (RN)
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated ICU Registered Nurse to join our High Acuity Float Pool. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical expertise, particularly in high acuity settings, and will have experience in floating across various units.
Shift and Schedule
- Shift Type: Day Shift
- Shift Length: 12 hours
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekend Requirements: 3 weekend shifts per schedule
Unit Information
The High Acuity Float Pool provides care across multiple departments, including:
- Critical Care Unit
- Observation
- Medical-Surgical
- General Surgery
- Orthopedic Surgery
- Short Stay Surgery
- Thoracic Surgery
- Neurosurgery
- Oncology
- Telemetry
- Progressive Care
Nurse-to-patient ratios generally range from 1:1 to 1:2, depending on patient acuity.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in ICU settings; high acuity experience preferred.
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.
- Must have prior floating experience in various units or facilities.
- EPIC experience is mandatory.
- Washington state or compact RN license required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in critical care settings.
- Titrate drips and manage advanced care including medications such as Epi, Norepi, Dobutamine, and more.
- Utilize monitoring equipment and ensure accurate patient assessments.
- Coordinate with the healthcare team to develop and implement effective care plans.
- Participate in unit orientation and training programs, including General Hospital Orientation and other required classes.
Additional Information
- Self-scheduling options are available.
- Charge Nurses are available to assist and do not take assignments.
- Nurse aids are present and ratios depend on daily census.
- Telemetry monitoring is available, with RNs expected to interpret strips.
