Position Overview

The Optometrist will provide comprehensive eye and vision care, including routine eye examinations, diagnosis and management of eye conditions, and prescribing corrective lenses. Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and eye health
• Diagnose and manage common eye conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and dry eye
• Prescribe corrective lenses, including eyeglasses and contact lenses
• Detect signs of systemic conditions that may affect eye health
• Educate patients on vision care, treatment options, and preventive eye health
• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and clinical staff to coordinate patient care
• Stay current with advancements in optometric care and technology

Requirements

General Requirements

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited optometry program
• Licensed or eligible for licensure to practice optometry in Vermont
