Senior Systems Engineer
Avint is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to support a mission-critical program within the National Capital Region. This role focuses on the design, implementation, operations, maintenance, and cybersecurity of complex, large-scale IT infrastructure supporting secure environments.
As part of a high-performing engineering team, you will contribute to building and sustaining resilient, secure, and scalable systems that meet stringent government requirements. This position requires deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving abilities, and experience working in highly secure, classified environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop architectural frameworks for complex IT systems and infrastructure
- Provide technical leadership across requirements development, engineering, integration, and testing
- Support automation and optimization of engineering processes
- Conduct system assessments including upgrades, migrations, and new deployments
- Develop conceptual designs and implementation plans, including work breakdown structures (WBS)
- Perform research, prototyping, and integration of emerging technologies
- Develop and maintain system architecture, design documentation, and test plans
- Support configuration management and lifecycle sustainment activities
- Interface with government stakeholders on technical issues and system improvements
- Conduct system testing and validation against defined requirements
- Participate in interface design and system integration across multiple teams
