Automotive Technician / Mechanic DARCARS Automotive Group – DARCARS of Fairfax Potential Earnings: $30 – $50 per hour + seniority bonus. Responsibilities Perform general repairs and diagnosis of customer vehicles including light engine work, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, electrical systems (starters, alternators), HVAC, steering and suspension systems. Document all work performed and recommended on the assigned repair order. Use the multi‑point inspection form accurately on each vehicle. Communicate with the service advisor when additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time. Maintain technician proficiency as specified by DARCARS standards. Conduct road tests to confirm work was successfully completed when necessary and practical. Perform all levels of diagnosis and repair on vehicles. Perform all levels of preventive/routine maintenance services. Utilize product and technical training as assigned by manufacturers and management. Participate in manufacturer‑sponsored training programs and schools to expand knowledge of new technology. Maintain customer satisfaction index at or above DARCARS specified goals in service for district, regional, and national scores. Complete warranty repair orders and file warranty claims accurately. Report any situation that jeopardizes safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, its customers or employees. Return vehicles clean and as they were prior to service. Understand and complete required training for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right‑to‑Know, etc.). Comply with all laws, regulations, and company policy regarding safeguarding customer vehicles and information. Other duties as assigned by management.
