Production Supervisor

Night 2 Production SupervisorThis position is responsible for supervising a trained work team on one of the night shifts to produce fiber cement siding in accordance with established standard operating procedures and management objectives while ensuring a safe working environment. This position is a non-exempt role and eligible for shift premium and overtime.Essential Functions:Directs, coordinates and evaluates the activities of the plant on a night shift (3-on, 3-off; 7:00PM to 7:00AM)Keeps all employees on the shift informed of job duties, breaks, and rotationResponsible for employee productivity and outputMonitors safety, quality, housekeeping and quantities produced per-shiftEnsures that all new employees are properly trainedResponsible for observing all plant standard operating procedures and safety policiesParticipates in training programs to enhance environmental and safety performancePerforms assigned tasks as specified in the environmental procedures and work instructionsUnderstands the significant environmental impacts of my job activities and the consequences of departing from specified work instructionsProblem-Solving:Must be able to organize, prioritize, and use discretion and good judgment in decision making and interpretation of informationMust be able to effectively diagnose and solve problemsKnowledge & Experience:3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment requiredBachelor's degree preferred, but not required (minimum of high school diploma or GED)3-5 years progressively responsible positions in a manufacturing environmentMust be proficient in using computerMust know how to work well on a teamInternal contacts include all levels of employees and managementExternal contacts may include customers/distributorsBoth internal and external contacts require the ability to establish rapport and maintain professional relationshipsStrong interpersonal and leadership management skillsMust have initiative and exhibit good judgmentMust participate in safety committees and activitiesMust work safely wearing all required PPEPossible occasional travel in the field
