Law Enforcement Officer PRN

Hourly Wage Estimate: $80.00 - $80.00 / hour Job Summary The EPD/Security Officer provides patient and visitor greetings, guides patients seeking emergency care to the areas to sign in for triage, screens patients before they are seen in triage using a portable or fixed metal detector, and provides high‑visibility security for the ED, Triage, and Admissions areas. The position directs all visitors and patients using the emergency department entrance and assists contract security officers during heightened security events. It also screens after‑hour visitors and works with patient care areas in communicating visitor requests. Equipment List Desktop Telephone Two‑Way Radio Portable/Fixed Metal Detector Card Access Doors Security Computer and Monitor(s) Security Camera Monitoring Equipment Position Requirements Licensure/Certification/Registration : Colorado Law Enforcement Officer/POST Certified. Education : Law Enforcement training/education equal to or above required Colorado Law Enforcement Officer/POST Certification training. Experience : 1‑2 years experience in law enforcement and currently employed as a Colorado law enforcement officer. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities : Knowledge of Colorado laws and law enforcement procedures; NRA certified, Taser certified; excellent verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of firearms, tasers, and other law enforcement tools and tactics.
