Warehouse Specialist JVA-2026-019 Full Time Fort Knox, Fort Knox, KY, US Salary Range: $21.10 To $21.10 Hourly Job Description Position Summary The Warehouse Specialist performs a variety of warehousing duties including the following: verifying materials (or merchandise) against receiving documents, noting and reporting discrepancies and obvious damages, routing materials to prescribed storage locations. The Warehouse Specialist is also responsible for storing, stacking, or palletizing materials in accordance with prescribed storage methods, rearranging and taking inventory of stored materials, examining stored materials and reporting deterioration and damage, removing material from storage and preparing it for shipment. Essential Functions of the Position Receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard Process turn-ins for expired or unserviceable stock in storage Collaborate with Supply Technician Lead and place received parts and equipment in proper location Assist the Supply Technician with the editing of parts and input of parts request into the automated Global Combat Support System Army (GCSS-A) Keep records and compile stock reports Ensure that all supply requirements are processed accurately and timely Mark stock items, using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment Verify all receipts according to the data listed on the Materiel Receipt Document for correct National Stock Number, unit of issue, quantity and condition prior to acceptance Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors. Use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things Purchase new or additional stock, or prepare documents that provide for such purchases Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location, based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities Prepare and maintain records and reports of inventories, price lists, shortages, shipments, expenditures, and goods used or issued Issue or distribute materials, products, parts, and supplies to customers or coworkers, based on information from incoming requisitions Advise retail customers or internal users on the appropriateness of parts, supplies, or materials requested Perform other relevant duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities Physical Demands Must have the ability to work indoors or outdoors in bad weather. Must be able to stand, sit, squat, carry lift to 25 lbs., walk and drive for long period of times. Must possess visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech at normal to high levels and on the telephone; and the manual dexterity to operate hand tools. Job is performed indoors and outdoors and will be exposed to prevailing weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment may vary from moderate to high, depending on location. Will work a 40-hour work week. Specific positions may require the individual to work rotating shifts. Minimum Qualifications High School graduate or equivalent Must have warehousing experience Ability to multitask and demonstrate attention to detail Proficient with MS Office suite of programs Processes analytical and research skills Must have valid state driver's license and be able to maintain post driving privileges Language Skills Ability to read, comprehend and explain instructions, letters, memos, emails, and correspondence from inside the organization as well as from external sources. Ability to effectively respond, communicate and present information to customers, internal and external, clients and other employees in the organization. Ability to interpret instructions and information and explain to others in the performance of this job in English. The employee must be dependable and have strong communication skills while meeting project deadlines. Must maintain accountability of equipment. Timesheets must be completed daily, ensuring that you accurately record your actual work hours. Timely and precise timesheet entries are essential for maintaining our records and ensuring smooth operations. Additionally, please remember to dress appropriately for your shift and be punctual.
