Position Description
The Department of Neurosurgery at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA seeks a physiatrist faculty member at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level (HS Clinical series) focusing on cranial and spinal neurological disorders. The physiatrist will work with an interdisciplinary team including neurosurgeons, advanced practice providers, and physical and occupational therapists. The role involves leading clinics at one or more UCLA Health clinic locations and providing inpatient and outpatient consults. Clinics include performing and interpreting electrodiagnostic studies and evidence‐based interventions. Responsibilities also encompass diagnosing and managing acute and chronic neurologic diseases, assessing motor function, managing pain, baclofen pumps, neuromuscular injections, orthotics, and medication management. Research expertise in rehabilitation of motor, sensory, pain, and functional perturbations from central and peripheral nervous system injury conditions is required.
Qualifications: Outstanding record of clinical excellence, academic productivity, and commitment to education. M.D. degree or equivalent, eligible for California medical licensure, board certified or eligible in physical medicine and rehabilitation, completed fellowship training in the field. Compensation and academic rank commensurate with experience.
