Position Overview

The General Manager will work directly with ownership and oversee the company’s daily operations.

This position is responsible for coordinating the sales, production, administrative, financial, and customer-service functions of the business. The General Manager will lead department managers, monitor company performance, improve operational systems, and ensure that projects move efficiently from the initial customer appointment through completion and final payment.

This is a hands-on leadership role. The General Manager must be comfortable making decisions, solving problems, developing employees, reviewing financial performance, and holding managers and team members accountable.

The successful candidate will balance long-term strategic planning with the practical demands of operating a residential construction company.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

Leadership and Accountability

Operational Management

Sales Management (with a Sales Manager to assist)

Production and Quality Oversight (with a Production Manager to assist)

Financial Management (With an Office Manager to assist)

Customer Experience

Strategic Planning

Qualifications

At least five years of management, operational leadership, or business-management experience.

Experience managing multiple departments, managers, or business functions.

Demonstrated success improving business operations and employee accountability.

Strong understanding of financial statements, job costing, budgeting, and cash flow.

Ability to interpret performance reports and use data to make decisions.

Strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience handling difficult personnel, customer, or operational situations.

Comfortable using CRM systems, accounting software, spreadsheets, and performance reports.

Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
