Assistant Corporate ControllerFlogistix Corporate - OKC, OK 73116The Assistant Corporate Controller supports the Corporate Controller in overseeing the company's accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls. This role is critical in ensuring compliance with SEC regulations, GAAP, and internal policies. The position partners cross-functionally to maintain accurate financial statements, support audits, and drive process improvements in a public company environment.Financial Reporting & SEC ComplianceAssist in the preparation and filing of SEC reports (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements)Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC regulationsReview financial statements, footnotes, and disclosures for accuracy and completenessSupport earnings release preparation and investor reportingAccounting OperationsOversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close of all operating companiesEnsure timely and accurate financial close processesSupervise accounting staff and provide technical accounting guidanceMaintain and enforce accounting policies and proceduresInternal Controls & SOX ComplianceSupport the design, implementation, and monitoring of internal controls over financial reporting (SOX)Coordinate with internal and external auditorsIdentify control deficiencies and implement remediation plansAudit & ComplianceServe as a key liaison for external audits and quarterly reviewsAssist with internal audits and compliance initiativesEnsure adherence to company policies and regulatory requirementsTechnical AccountingResearch and document complex accounting issues (e.g., revenue recognition, leases, stock-based compensation)Assist in implementing new accounting standards and policiesProcess Improvement & SystemsDrive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracySupport ERP and financial system implementations or upgradesLeverage automation and technology to streamline reportingCross-Functional CollaborationPartner with FP&A, Legal, Tax, and Investor Relations teamsSupport strategic initiatives, including M&A integration and due diligenceQualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (required)CPA designation (strongly preferred)6–10+ years of progressive accounting experienceExperience in a public company and/or Big 4 public accounting firm strongly preferredTechnical SkillsStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirementsExperience with SOX compliance and internal controlsProficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and financial reporting toolsAdvanced Excel skillsLeadership & Soft SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentEffective communication and leadership skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with public company filings and SEC reporting software (e.g., Workiva)Background in a high-growth or multi-entity environmentExperience with complex accounting areas (e.g., consolidations, equity accounting)Reporting StructureReports to: Corporate ControllerDirect Reports: Senior Accountants, Accounting Managers (varies by organization)
