Purchasing Assistant/ Clerk 1st Shift

**PRIMARY FUNCTION:** Primarily responsible for performing general clerical duties including order data entry and accurate record maintenance.**RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:*** Perform clerical function related to the processing of orders, ensuring the timely acquisition of supplies, equipment and materials* Complete order entry into purchasing management software including preparing purchase requisitions, generating purchase orders, obtain price quotes when needed, etc.;* Monitor and track purchase orders; contact suppliers for late or missing orders when needed* Prepare purchasing reports as requested ensuring data reported is accurate and up-to-date* Assist with monthly inventory* All other relevant duties as requested by supervisor or manager**EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:*** High School diploma or equivalent**EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:*** Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a clerical position* Ability to communicate (both speak and write) and comprehend English fluently* Ability to fluently communicate both internally and externally in a timely and professional manner* Must have proficient computer and math skills* Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and sense of urgency, with the ability to work in a fast paced environment when needed and the ability to effectively multi-task* Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize to complete tasks while maintaining attention to detail* Must be able to work unsupervised to complete all tasks**SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:*** Follow all departmental and company safety policies and programs* Wear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatory**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:*** Ability to lift 20 lbs frequently and 40 lbs occasionally.* Ability to frequently move about the facility #J-18808-Ljbffr
