About the Position

Job Title

Travel RN – Medical/Surgical (Night Shift)

Charleston, SC | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Overtime may be available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 42-bed Medical/Surgical unit with a goal patient ratio of 1:6 (may reach 1:7)
• Perform unit-specific procedures including wound care, Foley catheter insertion and maintenance, and trach care
• Utilize Meditech for clinical documentation in accordance with facility standards
• Participate in bedside shift report, team huddles, and patient safety initiatives
• Float to other units as needed per facility floating policy
• Work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital staff

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (compact or South Carolina)
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical nursing experience
• Proficiency with standard Med/Surg equipment (EKG, bladder scanner, vein finder, etc.)
• Strong communication skills, teamwork orientation, and demonstrated compassion in patient care

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Meditech documentation system
• Background in high-volume or large Med/Surg unit environments
• Familiarity with patient safety protocols and fall prevention initiatives
