Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS Must-Have: Circulating OR RN experience Description: This is a small rural facility. The volume of cases can vary from day to day. Typically, expect 1-2 cases per day, with up to 4 or 5 on busier days. There is usually one major case per week in the operating room on average. Circulating experience is essential as on-the-job training is not available. Procedures include colonoscopy and endoscopy. The OR RN may also handle PACU and pre-op duties if within scope. The facility offers quality surgical services available 24/7. Surgical staff are specially trained in advanced life-saving procedures and practices. Routine surgeries include appendectomy, gallbladder removal, hernia repair, knee surgery, foot and ankle surgery, hysterectomy, bladder slings, prostate surgery, c-section delivery, colonoscopy, gastroscopy, carpal tunnel repair, and tonsillectomy. There is a shared weekend and after-hours call schedule. Call requirements are approximately 50%, with a commitment of 2 days a week and every other weekend.
