Overview Doping Control Officer I or II (DCO I or DCO II) – USADA: USADA is seeking a dedicated and driven person to help fulfill its mission to Stand with athletes to champion their right to clean sport, inspire true and healthy sport, and promote the integrity of sport. This role supports major international competitions such as the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2026 (Milan) and 2028 (Los Angeles). The DCO will have the opportunity to help position USADA for future opportunities and growth while upholding a commitment to a clean Games. The role reports to the DC Ops Manager & Asst Manager and is non-exempt. Location requires residing within 50 miles. REPORTS TO : DC Ops Manager & Asst Manager SUPERISES : N/A Responsibilities Conduct sample collection sessions in support of the Olympic/Paralympic, Client Services testing teams, and other agencies when requested by USADA. Accept, plan, and manage doping control assignments in accordance with the WADA International Standards and USADA criteria. Execute logistics related to the doping control process to facilitate successful completion of missions. Conduct doping control and processing of samples in line with USADA protocols and the WADA Code/International Standards. Recruit and onboard independent contractors to serve as Chaperones where required (e.g., if the athlete is a minor or if gender differences exist). Witness sample collection or oversee the witnessing of the sample collection process. Travel to various locations to perform sample collections using the most economical route. Ensure accurate documentation and completion of the doping control process. Ship and submit processed samples to the specified WADA-certified laboratory. Assist in onboarding and training new doping control officers. Maintain accountability to current DCO manuals, documentation, and training resources. Participate in DCO evaluation and support programs, continuing education, and re-accreditation. Manage documentation equipment and travel expenses, and provide witness testimony in legal cases when required. Enforce infection control practices when working with equipment or athletes. General Maintain confidentiality at all times. Have no affiliation with sample collection organizations outside of USADA. Keep USADA informed of field issues or conflicts of interest. Recommend updates to USADA protocol and procedures related to Doping Control. Undertake projects and other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency with tablets, multiple software platforms, and various applications. Ability to make decisions per USADA protocol and procedures; multitask and work under pressure. Professional interaction with internal and external stakeholders; willingness to travel for test assignments. Flexibility in hours; ability to access the internet for daily communication. Demonstrates integrity, respect, and justice; teamwork; ability to meet deadlines with limited supervision. Ability to stand, bend, and lift 50 pounds regularly. Certification Successful completion of all USADA certification/recertification requirements. Pass bi-annual written and practical exams. Attend DCO training sessions, meetings, and conferences. Valid Driver’s License in good standing with state requirements where you reside. Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. DCO II Additional Requirements National Phlebotomy certification from ACA, AMT, ASCP, NHA, or NCCT/MMCI (certified on/after the listed dates). Applicants certified before those dates must retake the certifying examination. Additional certifications such as RN, NP, PA satisfy the requirement; CPT I & II in California are acceptable if accompanied by the national exam requirement. Compliance with state-specific phlebotomy training requirements where you reside; at least 3 years of phlebotomy experience preferred; SafeSport Certification (post-offer). Desired Qualifications Work experience in Allied Health Professions with certifications or licenses (e.g., Athletic Trainer, Physical Therapist, Registered Nurse, Paramedics). Compensation & Time Commitment Compensation is per-test (out-of-competition) for missions, typically $130–$180 per test; test sessions usually last 1–2 hours. In-Competition testing is paid at a daily flat rate, typically $250 per day. Onboarding is anticipated to begin in March with significant upfront training; approximately 24–30 hours during the first 60 days, followed by 2–3 hours of training and updates per quarter, plus time for test assignments. #J-18808-Ljbffr
