The physical therapist will evaluate and treat patients, utilizing electronic medical records to complete evaluations, reports, and discharge summaries. Guiding and monitoring patient care in all aspects of treatment is essential. Supervision of PT Assistants and Aides regarding patient care is required. Effective communication with physicians and other healthcare providers is crucial to ensure quality patient care. Responsibilities include accurate patient chart documentation and follow-up on prescriptions, test results, and authorizations. Maintaining patient comfort and answering any inquiries is part of the role. Close collaboration with front office staff regarding scheduling and patient follow-up is expected. Basic computer skills for job requirements, including typing and EMR usage, are necessary. The physical therapist should make independent decisions regarding patient care. Involvement in business marketing and referral processes may be required. Adherence to privacy policies and procedures is mandatory. Familiarity with billing policies and procedures, including Medicare and other insurances, is preferred. The role demands physical mobility, including various postures and lifting requirements during working hours. The physical therapist must stay alert for patient safety at all times. Travel is not expected for this position. Continuing education courses are preferred but not mandatory. The role requires compliance with OSHA and state regulations.
