Position Overview
We are seeking a Buyer for an immediate 3-month contract assignment supporting procurement and purchasing operations within a manufacturing and agricultural environment. This individual will be responsible for sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, supporting purchasing activities, and ensuring timely delivery of goods required to support operations.
The ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing, sourcing, vendor management, and procurement processes within manufacturing, food production, agriculture, or related industries.
Key Responsibilities
• Source and purchase materials, supplies, and services to support operational requirements
• Manage supplier relationships and maintain communication regarding pricing, availability, and delivery schedules
• Evaluate vendor quotes and proposals to ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions
• Negotiate pricing and purchasing terms when appropriate
• Monitor purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials
• Maintain accurate procurement records and supplier information
• Collaborate with operations, production, and supply chain teams to support purchasing needs
• Assist with inventory planning and procurement forecasting activities
• Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
• Prepare procurement-related reports and purchasing metrics
• Support additional supply chain and procurement projects as needed
Qualifications
• 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience
• Experience within manufacturing, agriculture, food production, or related industries preferred
• Strong vendor management and negotiation skills
• Experience working with procurement systems and ERP platforms
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Degree not required
