Security and Safety Analyst

GFT is seeking a Security and Safety Analyst to join our team in Northern California . This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our office. What you’ll be challenged to do: A Security and Safety Analyst will provide project assistance for a wide variety of projects related to safety, security, emergency and continuity planning, and regulatory compliance in these areas. The position supports preparedness, mitigation, response, recovery, and resilience initiatives through research, planning, analysis, stakeholder coordination, and operational support activities. Responsibilities Assist in the development, maintenance, and implementation of Emergency Operations Plans, Continuity of Operations Plans, hazard mitigation plans, and emergency procedures. Support emergency preparedness, response, recovery, and resilience initiatives for public and private clients. Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, capability assessments, and regulatory compliance reviews. Prepare basic and technical analysis, outlines, technical specifications, studies, plans, and reports, and provide support of broader security and safety activities. Perform research and prepare routine and moderately complex technical reports or report sections. Coordinate and support training programs, tabletop exercises, drills, and functional exercises consistent with Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program guidance. Prepare After-Action Reports and Improvement Plans following incidents and exercises. Interface with clients, public agencies, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary project teams to gather information and support project objectives. Monitor emergency management regulations, industry standards, and best practices. What you will bring to our firm: Bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management, Homeland Security, Public Administration, Public Safety, or a related field, required. Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in emergency management, disaster preparedness, homeland security, public safety, or related programs. FEMA ICS and NIMS coursework required. Knowledge of emergency management principles, FEMA frameworks, SEMS/NIMS requirements, continuity planning, and preparedness programs. Experience supporting emergency operations, incident response, recovery efforts, and preparedness initiatives. Ability to independently manage workload, prioritize assignments, and meet project deadlines. Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Demonstrates excellent oral, written, and presentation skills required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) required. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, agencies, executives, and technical staff. Expected to produce professional-quality work products with minimal supervision. What we prefer you bring: Certified Emergency Manager, Associate Emergency Manager, or related certification preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desired or 3 years project management experience in lieu of formal certification. Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this role is $110,000 - $125,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location. Hybrid (in‑person and remote) work environment.
