Exciting PRN Inpatient Psychiatry Position Available in Northern Virginia

Position: PRN Inpatient Psychiatrist (MD/DO)

Location: Prince William Medical Center, 8700 Sudley Road, Manassas, VA

We are looking for a PRN Inpatient Psychiatrist (MD/DO) to become a vital member of our Behavioral Health team at Prince William Medical Center. This role is essential in delivering top-notch psychiatric care to a varied patient demographic while enhancing access to mental health services throughout the area.

This position allows you to thrive in a collaborative, patient-focused setting, backed by robust administrative and clinical support.

• Inpatient psychiatry role based in a hospital setting
• Main location: Prince William Medical Center
• Remote coverage available for Haymarket and Culpeper Medical Centers
• Utilization of the EPIC electronic medical record system
• Assistance from the Behavioral Health Access Team, outpatient/IOP teams, and Emergency Department
• Closed ICU model
• Supportive leadership and administrative framework
• Strong interdisciplinary support teams
• Chance to influence access to behavioral health services across multiple facilities

• PRN
• 7 on / 7 off schedule
• Day shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM (on-site rounding)

• Deliver inpatient psychiatric care on the Behavioral Health Inpatient (BHIP) unit
• Manage an average daily patient load of 8-12 patients (both on-site and remote)
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, develop treatment plans, and oversee medication management
• Provide consultative services within your scope of practice as needed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Engage in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
• Provide care in compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and clinical standards
• Facilitate continuity of care and address patient needs during transitions

• MD or DO from an accredited medical institution
• Completion of an accredited psychiatry residency program
• Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry
• Active Virginia medical license (or eligibility)
• Current DEA license

The base salary range for this position is $292,910 - $373,642 for PRN status. Individual compensation will be based on fair market value and the qualifications, clinical experience, specialty training, credentials, and/or education of the selected candidate. Please note that this pay range does not encompass any applicable incentive compensation programs, such as productivity, quality, non-productivity, or other incentives that may be available for eligible roles.
