Learn more at Athena OB/GYN, an Axia Women’s Health care center, is seeking an experienced Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP), to work M-F. No Weekends! 3 Pennsylvania locations: Langhorne , Horsham , and Abington 10 Ob/Gyn Physicians and 4 Nurse Practitioners On-site ultrasound, 3D Mammography, and in-house lab work. Bonus incentive eligibility Physician Assistants are not being considered at this time. Position Summary: The Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive, specialized care to women across the lifespan, focusing on reproductive health, gynecological issues, family planning, and wellness promotion. Practices under the standard procedureestablishedfor theNurse Practitionerrole consistent with company policy andin accordance withall legal requirements. Conducts age-appropriate assessments of patients, including history taking and physical examination consistent with department protocol. Performs routinephysical examinationswithinscopeof practice, including pelvic examinations, breast examinations, PAP tests, and any relevant infection screenings. Performs IUD and Nexplanon insertions/removals , Endometrial Biopsies , works with Pessaries - education & maintenance; mayperform Colposcopies . Provides education on women’s issues, preventative care, contraceptive methods, and lifestyle modifications. Ordersdiagnostictestsand prescribes medicationswithin scope of practice. Provides expert, compassionate care for women during the menopausal transition (perimenopause, Menopause, postmenopausal) by managing symptoms like hot flashes, mood swings, and sleep issues, educating patients on treatment options (hormonal/non-hormonal), offering lifestyle advice (diet, exercise, supplements), and supporting overall well‑being with evidence‑based care. Manages prenatal, perinatal, and postpartum visits, screening for pregnancy complications and evaluating physical and mental wellbeing after birth. Confers with patients in person and by phone/electronically, collaborates with others in the department to ensure a smooth flow of patient care consistent with established quality indicators andparticipatesin the overall coordination of patient care. Performs assessment/data collection in an on-going systematic manner, focusing on physiological, psychosocial, cultural,spiritualand cognitive status, patient/family education, family involvement, and patient advocacy. Consults with supervisingphysiciansor other clinicians as dictated by patient need and assessment findings. Participates with physicians and other clinicians in the department toensureeffective patient care consistent with quality indicators for patients cared for in the designated service. Reviews medicalrecordforfollow upor ordering of diagnostic studies under established protocols. Establishes effective working relationships with members of the health care team, patients, and families. Demonstrates knowledge of and applies safety principles asidentifiedby the practice. Performs efficiently in emergency situations following established protocols,remainingcalm, informingappropriate people, and documenting events. Demonstrates knowledge of legal issues, including patient confidentiality and risk management in all aspects of patient care and unit functioning. Demonstrates a service philosophy in all interactions with patients, families, and all members of the health care team. Demonstrates proficiency in the use of computers and telecommunication modalities to document, track and convey information. Qualifications: Strong understanding of healthcare principles, including anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and pathophysiology. Effective communication with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.Ability toexplain diagnoses, treatment options, and procedures clearly and empathetically. Strong computerproficiencyandunderstanding and knowledgeofEHRand healthcare technologies. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team. Willingness to pursue continuing education and stay updated on advances in Women’s Health. Must be able to work at each practice location as scheduled. Required Education & Experience: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MS, MSN, or DNP); withfocuson Women’s Health highly preferred. Board certification in WHNP, FNP, ANP, or similar. Current unrestricted Pennsylvania Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner license, Prescriptive Authority, and DEA. 2 + years’ Women’s Health advanced practice clinician experience .
