Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position requiring 2 years of RN experience and a SC or compact RN license.

Details

• /Telemetry (MS/Tele) unit of a hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-7:00)
• Weekend shifts required as needed
• On-call requirement of either 2 on-call shifts or 2 additional shifts per 6 weeks
• 13-week assignment length

Requirements

• > Active RN license (SC or Compact) required, pending license accepted if obtained before start
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and CPI
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, with 1+ year considered on a case-by-case basis
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Experience with cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management required
• Skills in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration required
• Recent Epic EMR experience preferred but not required
• Must be able to pass a cardiac dysrhythmia test on the first day of orientation with only one attempt allowed
• Must be clean-shaven or able to pass a fit test for PPE requirements

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit including cardiac monitoring, wound care, and medication administration
• Experience with orthopedic and spine patient populations preferred
• Skills in respiratory care including chest tube management, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management are valued
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with the initial application; RTO requests made after submission will not be accommodated
• Facility maintains an attendance policy for travelers; missing more than two shifts per 13-week contract without reasonable explanation may result in contract review for cancellation
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous permanent staff at this health system are not eligible to return as travelers
