Psychologist – Day Program Behavioral Intervention Specialist

Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Psychologist to provide direct clinical services to adults with developmental disabilities and/or co‐occurring psychiatric conditions in day program settings. This role focuses on enhancing behavioral and social well‐being through individualized assessments, treatment planning, and staff training.

Essential Responsibilities

• Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) in compliance with OPWDD 633.16 regulations
• Provide individual and group supportive counseling services
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care
• Deliver clinical consultation and training to program staff on proactive and reactive interventions
• Facilitate family consultation sessions regarding behavioral concerns
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, Human Rights Committee reviews, and case conferences
• Prepare monthly behavioral data summaries, annual assessments, and regulatory reports
• Develop protocols for assistive devices when needed
• Review incident reports and provide clinical follow‐up
• Maintain accurate documentation per OPWDD standards

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology from an accredited institution
• NYS Psychologist license required
• Minimum two years of experience providing direct clinical services to individuals with developmental disabilities, with at least one year post‐graduate experience
• Demonstrated ability to conduct FBAs and implement BSPs
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Flexible schedule with occasional late afternoon or evening availability
