We are actively seeking a Machine Shop Manager to support our machining operations in McKees Rocks. In this position, you will own the performance and the economics of the axle and circular machine shop - utilization, quality, schedule, on-time delivery and the controllable cost that sits underneath them. Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Owning the shops contribution margin – P&L
• Managing direct and indirect labor hours and VOH cost
• Driving more effective equipment utilization
• Coaching, training, and leading a team of machinists
• Improving quality, reducing rework and leading in-process inspection discipline
• Building and holding the product inventory
• Leading machining continuous improvement

As a leader, your success will be determined by your ability to improve efficiencies in our machining processes. These results will drive improved financial performance for the machining operations.

Required Qualifications:

• At least 8 years of professional machining focused manufacturing experience
• 3 or more years of experience running a shop or large cell as the accountable manager

Preferred Qualifications:

• Deep understanding of a units P&L
• Well experienced with horizontal boring mills, large capacity lathes and machining centres
• Familiar with G&L, Snyder, Doosan, Haas or credible equivalents
• Understanding of ERP driven scheduling
• Strong CAD/CAM knowledge

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or industrial engineering is strongly preferred
• Equivalent Combination of education and experience may be considered

Work Environment:

• Work in office setting and with the plant
• Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant
