Are you passionate about addressing homelessness through innovative programming, team leadership and trauma-informed care?  Project Hospitality is seeking a dynamic Shelter/Program Director of The Richmond our new DHS Adult Family Shelter Program to join our Team.  In this impactful, high-visibility role, you’ll drive transformational change across our brand new adult family shelter program supporting adults experiencing homelessness as well as the factors which keep them homeless.  This role offers the chance to leave a lasting impact on the lives of individuals by helping them find stability, dignity and hope when they need it most.

We’re looking for someone who can:

• Function as a leader and facilitator within the area of responsibility and establish and maintain effective lines of communication with all staff
• Be responsible for human resource management
• Serve in a marketing, professional and community relations capacity, as directed by the Area Director of Family Services to ensure that the program is well known and respected in the communities it serves
• Participate in program development and the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of ongoing, established plan for quality improvement which fully integrates initiatives into the daily program operation

What we’ll expect you to do:

• Provide clinical consultation and crisis intervention as required
• Deal with Staffing issues in an effective and efficient manner which fully complies with agency policy
• Recruitment will be done in an expeditious manner including orientation to new staff as applicable
• Evaluations, competency reviews and credentialing will be completed in a timely manner
• Staff development and training activities will be carried out according to an established plan
• All paperwork will be completed in a timely and accurate manner and forwarded to the appropriate personnel
• Demonstrate knowledge of the needs of “The Richmond” during budget preparation and then comply with the program budget as approved which includes continuous monitoring of all expenses and revenues appropriately and authorizing check requisitions under $1000
• Responsible that all reports are accurately completed and submitted in a timely manner in conjunction with the Office Manager
• Understand and utilize the information about the program from various oversight, compliance and regulatory sources and integrate that information into the daily program operation
• Responsible for attending meetings with DHS and other agencies as directed
• Responsible to comply with all OTDA “900 Series” regulations and to monitor legal and contractual obligations
• Responsible for ongoing supervision of staff including clinical and administrative staff meetings which are to be held as per agency policy and minutes kept which reflect discussions and decisions reached
• Responsible for facility management, ensuring that the program area is clean, maintained in good repair and conducive to achievement of client goals as well as responsible for the appropriate maintenance of all equipment inventories
• Responsible for the compliance with goals and objectives of the program as specified internally by the agency and as specified externally by the funding sources
• To oversee census issue with DHS so the shelter operates at or near full capacity
• Participate in both internal and external professional activities which further the goals of the program and the field of family homeless services
• 24/7 on-call support to program staff as needed

The credentials and experience we require:

• At least a Master’s degree in Social Work, although a Master’s degree in a related field would be considered
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in the fields of homeless services, substance abuse, and/or mental health treatment is required
• A minimum of 2 years of administrative and/or supervisory experience in the above areas and strong clinical skills
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills and possess the highest degree of skills in working with individuals and groups
• Expertise in housing-first, trauma-informed approaches and harm reduction
• Outstanding communication, collaboration and conflict resolution skills
• Strong computer knowledge and fiscal skills, to the degree that they can respond to various external regulatory agencies and to the internal needs of the agency, are required
• The Shelter/Program Director must conduct themselves with the utmost professionalism and uphold the highest moral and ethical standards at all times
• The physical ability to perform the essential job functions is necessary
