Quality Technician

Position reports to the Quality Supervisor and serves an important support role to ensure processes are under control and continually improved. The position requires strong skills and initiative in inspection, problem solving, and auditing, and works directly with personnel in all operational departments while also possibly communicating with customers as assigned. Audit key production processes at least bi‑hourly to ensure consistent product quality and proactively prevent scrap. Provide guidance to production teams on quality concerns and assist in making informed decisions, including initiating line stoppages when necessary. Real‑time inspection and sampling of product. Disposition and investigation of product held for quality review, potentially completing root cause analyses as necessary. Proper documentation, communication, and record keeping related to the Quality Management System. Perform internal procedural audits. Participate in external audits led by onsite third parties. Calibrate measuring and monitoring systems. Testing/retesting of product, equipment, or other parameters as assigned. Lead or facilitate problem‑solving or continuous improvement activities. Write procedures as assigned. Train departmental trainers/operators in defect recognition and quality standards. Requirements Six Sigma Green Belt certification (obtainment required). 2+ years of direct experience as a Quality Inspector or Quality Technician in a manufacturing environment; experience with machine vision surface inspection systems preferred. Prior experience in an ISO9001:2015 based Quality Management System desired. Competency in basic control charting, auditing, and calibration required. Experience with Process FMEA and Control Plans preferred. Ability to read and correctly interpret technical procedures and specifications. Ability to communicate quality requirements to operations personnel. Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
