Your daily responsibilities may vary by department. Customer Service Associates work in one of the following departments, based on hiring needs and skillsets: Appliances, Cabinets, Flooring, Live Nursery, Inside Garden, Hardware, Tools, Millwork, Building Materials, Plumbing, Electrical, Paint, Home Décor, Tool Rental, or Pro Services. Key Responsibilities Welcome customers and deliver friendly, professional service. Assist customers with locating and handling merchandise. Down‑stock merchandise by replenishing supplies. Process orders and deliveries accurately. Cross‑train in other store areas as needed. Prepare merchandise in your department (e.g., tint and mix paint, cut and thread pipe, cut and bundle wood, cut drywall, cut blinds). Guide customers through shopping or checkout. Complete other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications 6 months experience using a computer (inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information). 6 months experience using common retail technology (smart phones and tablets). Reading, writing, and basic arithmetic skills. Ability to stand, sit, and perform other required activities for the job. Lift minimally 25 lbs unassisted or >25 lbs with or without accommodation. Preferred Qualifications Retail and/or customer service experience. Bi‑lingual skills. Certification in a trade related to the department (e.g., hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, lumber/building materials). Travel Requirements This role does not require regular travel; occasional travel may be needed for meetings, training, or to support neighboring stores. Working Conditions Employees work both indoors and outdoors under varying weather conditions. Exposure to heat, cold, wet, damp, humid, windy, or drafty conditions may occur. Ambient noise and moving or shaking equipment are common. Associates must follow lifting guidelines, limiting single lifts to 75 lbs and using team lifts for heavier loads where required. Pay Range $15.00 – $15.70 per hour; starting rate may vary by location, education, training, and experience.
