RN Perioperative Circulator – Adult Surgery

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, deliver, and evaluate nursing care for patients whose protective reflexes or self-care abilities are potentially compromised during operative or other invasive procedures
• Provide direct and indirect professional nursing care for patients in the operating room
• Perform ongoing evaluation and documentation of all components of care delivered within the perioperative environment utilizing the nursing process
• Individualize patient care according to the patient's health status, age level, and surgery or procedure being performed
• Apply clinical knowledge, judgment, and clinical-reasoning skills based on scientific principles to address the physical, psychological, and spiritual responses of the surgical patient

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an acute operating room environment
• Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
• Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Solid understanding of AORN Standards

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a board-approved program
• CNOR certification
• Experience organizing, planning, coordinating, and evaluating nursing services in a perioperative setting
