Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Min 5%) As a Team Member, it is essential that you be available, flexible, adaptable, and service-oriented, as you must be able to fulfill all of the following requirements: Maintain regular and predictable attendance. Work scheduled shifts with the ability to work varied hours, days, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed. Support selling initiatives (TEAM): Thank the Customer Engage with the customer and/or pet Advise on products or services Make it Memorable Perform a variety of duties during 95% of the day, including: Operate cash register/computer following cash handling procedures Recover merchandise Participate in freight process Complete Plan-o-gram procedures Assemble merchandise Perform janitorial duties Execute price changes/markdowns Assist customers with loading Ensure safety and care of live animals, sanitize tanks, and maintain animal care Complete all related documentation Perform other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Experience: No experience required; retail and pet/live animal knowledge preferred. Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required. Must be able to read, write, and count accurately. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities Pet/live animal, pet food, pet product knowledge preferred. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Basic computer skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to resolve issues ethically and with minimal conflict. Working Conditions Indoor environment with moderate noise; outdoor areas are hard surfaces. Shifts generally no less than 4 hours, possibly exceeding 8 hours. Maintain a safe, productive environment following safety guidelines. Physical Requirements Non-sedentary; ability to move quickly and safely throughout the store and outdoors. Operate equipment safely and efficiently. Occasionally lift or reach overhead. Stand, kneel, twist, crouch, squat, bend, stoop, climb ladders. Move throughout the store during entire shift. Access all store areas safely. Operate store equipment and process information accurately. Transfer merchandise weighing up to 50 pounds. Complete required training and certification.
