Slot Technician

Job Summary Maintains, installs, converts, and configures slot machines on assigned shifts according to departmental plans. Participates in a team‑oriented environment. Exhibits a friendly, helpful, and courteous manner when dealing with guests and colleagues, ensuring optimum guest service is maintained. Responsibilities Perform daily or scheduled preventive maintenance on gaming devices, including validator units, ticket printers, and card readers as specified by the slot performance supervisor. Follow machine entry procedures and repair procedures to proactively identify or prevent future equipment problems. Maintain and repair electronic circuitry of all Slot Operations related equipment. Safeguard all assigned assets upon installation, build, conversion, or reconfiguration. Use approved electronic test equipment when repairing or maintaining gaming devices. Diagnose faulty equipment and troubleshoot to the sub‑system level (e.g., Hopper, Comparator, MPU Board). Safely and effectively operate shop equipment including hand tools, welding equipment, soldering equipment, and test equipment. Maintain proper documentation on department repair logs, shift logs, daily shift reports, and J.M.R.s. Comply with gaming compact, other regulatory requirements, and company and departmental standard operating procedures. Maintain validator, ticket printer, and card reader stock in the slot performance shop at predetermined quantities. Complete projects and machine moves as assigned. Interact with other departments exhibiting a professional, courteous approach. Assist with validator software upgrades as released by vendors. Perform other duties as necessary to improve operational direction. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent required. Associate degree from college, university, trade school, or two years related experience and/or training; alternatively, a combination of education and experience (preferred). One year of Slot department experience strongly preferred; must be able to obtain and maintain appropriate license through Virginia Lottery. Ability to maneuver within and around casino and public areas. Physical capability to walk, bend, stoop, reach above head, sit or stand for prolonged periods, and handle manual dexterity tasks. Ability to respond calmly and make rational decisions when dealing with difficult guest and employee conflicts. Strong verbal communication skills. Ability to interpret visual cues and distinguish between colors. Tolerance to work in areas containing secondhand smoke, loud noises, bright lights, and dust. Ability to differentiate between various denominations of currency and coin. Wage: $18.25 per hour.
