Registered Nurse

Schedule: 5:00 AM - 1:00 PM, Thursday through Saturday. Evaluate and respond to youth health concerns. Advise youth regarding health treatments and procedures. Obtain and process blood, urine, or other sample specimens. Monitor, record, and report changes in youth's vitals or health condition. Administer medications to youth and observe them for potential adverse reactions. Conduct intake health screenings for newly incarcerated youth. Provide direct patient and emergency care to youth. Provide emergency care to staff when necessary. Consult and coordinate youth treatment plans with health services team members. Obtain medical files and records. Maintain medical files and records. Ensure medical supplies and equipment are stocked and accounted for. Administer vaccinations. Assist with annual tuberculosis (TB) skin tests. Perform other duties as assigned. Utilize professional nursing methods and techniques. Observe and assess behavior and progress of patients. Solve problems effectively. Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills. Abide by nursing regulations. Listen, observe, assess, and respond to medical emergencies. Evaluate, analyze, and make independent decisions. Respond to medical issues and inquiries in a professional manner. Collaborate with professional and non-professional staff to ensure health and safety of residents. Establish and maintain effective work relationships.
