Registered Nurse Emergency Room (Adult)

Location: Rochester, NY | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type: Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM 7:00 AM) | 312-Hour Shifts | Every other weekend required | Every other holiday required, if needed

Key Responsibilities: Provide emergency nursing care to adult and geriatric patients across all emergency-type diagnoses at a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5. Perform and manage IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and IV vasopressors. Manage ventilator, CPAP, and BiPAP equipment; utilize special equipment such as Bair hugger and rapid infuser. Conduct cardiac monitoring including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Care for patients with CVA/stroke, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, and TBI; apply appropriate isolation precautions and triage protocols. Float within skillset as required; document using EPIC (hard requirement).

Required Qualifications: Active New York Single State RN license required at time of submission (NY is not a Compact state; pending licenses are not accepted). BLS certification required. ACLS certification required. NIHSS certification required must include valid NIHSS documentation at time of submission. Minimum 1 year of relevant clinical experience required.

Preferred Experience / Skills: Experience with adult and pediatric emergency care, including trauma (gunshot wounds, orthopedic trauma, pediatric spinal cord injury). Familiarity with safe patient handling equipment and rapid infuser protocols. Experience in a Magnet-recognized or teaching hospital environment.
