Registered Nurse (RN) - Orthopedics

Registered Nurse – Orthopedics

Shift: 12-hour nights

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience
• Required specialty experience: Orthopedics
• Active RN license required; NC or Compact pending allowed for submittal
• Required certifications: BCLS (BLS), NIHSS
• Required clinical skills: IV starts, telemetry experience
• Preferred: Charge experience, Level I trauma experience
• Charting system: Epic (required)

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for orthopedic and neuro-spine patients.
• Manage high post-operative pain through effective pain management protocols.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding post-operative recovery and rehabilitation.
• Document all patient interactions and care in the electronic medical record accurately and timely.

Compliance / Notes:

• Must pass EKG testing prior to start for this specialty.
• Candidate must complete testing within 48 hours after signing.
• Pre-start modules required (acute ~8–10 hours) — must be completed pre-start.
• RTO after booking is not allowed. Up to 7 days auto-approved RTO (no holidays); no RTO during first week.
• Cannot approve holiday RTO; must work 2 of 3 major holidays.
