ChiropractorGenerations Family Health Center, Inc. is a regional community health center covering a thirty-seven town rural region in eastern Connecticut with sites located in Willimantic, Danielson, Norwich and Putnam. Our dedicated staff provides a full range of preventative and primary care medical services to all ages including health maintenance of chronic diseases, 24 hour on call, hospitalization coverage and patient case management, as well as complete behavioral health and dental services at our Willimantic and Putnam sites and through our School Based Health Center and ACROSS THE SMILES mobile dental program operating in the Northeast and Windham service area.LOCATION: Willimantic, CTJOB SUMMARY: Responsible for providing coordinated and quality Chiropractic care services to patients utilizing the clinical services of Generations Family Health Center. Chiropractic services provided shall include: Analyzes x-rays to locate the sources of patients' difficulties and to rule out fractures or diseases as sources of problems. Obtains records and maintains patients' medical histories. Counsel and advise patients about nutrition, exercise, stress management, and recommended courses of treatment. Evaluates diagnoses and performs a series of manual adjustments to the spine and its articulations, to correct problems with the musculoskeletal system. Consults with the primary care physician in order to refer patients to appropriate health practitioners when necessary, and order ancillary lab work and imaging studies. The Chiropractor will be knowledgeable about agency and clinical policies, keep all patient information confidential, and shall assume responsibility for the development and realization of an individual ongoing care plan for all patients including the performance of selected procedures.REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. Interest in serving low income, multicultural populations. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Ability to identify and categorize each patient's age specific grouping of needs. The ability to establish and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers, and to function in a calm manner during stressful and emergency situations. Demonstrates flexibility and resilience in response to changing clinical or administrative environments. Must have valid driver's license from State of residence. Must be able to transport oneself within the service area.QualificationsDoctor of Chiropractic Degree. Nationally recognized certification in area of practice, with a successful completion of the State Board of Examination and minimum of 3 years Chiropractic experience. Board certification or Board eligibility desirable. Current licensure in State of Connecticut.
