Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 12 months of Pediatric experience required. License: Active state license or compact/multistate license required. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required. Must-Have: - Pediatric experience within the last 18 months. - Experience with electronic medical record systems within the last 12 months. - Skills checklist specific to Pediatrics required. - Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, or similar role within the last 24 months preferred. - Driver's license required. Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Pediatrics. The nurse will work in a pediatric unit with a 23-bed capacity. Patient types include Hematology/Oncology, Medical Surgical, and all Pediatric specialties. The nurse may float across different care areas as needed. Patient-to-nurse ratios will be between 1:3 to 1:5. The position involves a holiday rotation and requires the nurse to work 1-2 of the three upcoming summer holidays. On-call duty is expected only during scheduled shifts for low census situations. Candidates who are first-time travelers are welcome, provided they have the required pediatric experience. Active engagement in ongoing professional development is encouraged. The role is ideal for nurses who are passionate about providing high-quality care to pediatric patients. Candidates must be prepared to handle a variety of pediatric cases and foster a supportive environment for children and families.
