Pediatric Registered Dietitian II- Cardiac/PECAN (Part-time) - Temp

Position Summary The Pediatric Cardiac Nutrition (PECAN) Program is a comprehensive, multidisciplinary program developed within the Heart Center at Boston Children’s Hospital. The Heart Center is the largest pediatric cardiac program in the country with 12 cardiac surgeons and nearly 100 cardiologists, and offers nearly 30 sub‑specialty programs to provide customized care for every patient. PECAN is co‑led by Dr. Kimberly Mills, a pediatric cardiac intensivist, and Dr. Paul "McGreggor" Crowley, a nutrition attending in the Division of Gastroenterology. The program facilitates the identification and delivers individualized specialized nutritional support for vulnerable patients. The position is a full‑time, 30‑hour‑per‑week registered dietitian role focusing on the prehabilitation program, temporary enteral access discharge and weaning program, and malnutrition clinic. It is a hybrid role with specific onsite and remote days to be determined, and is a temporary position through January 2027 with potential to become permanent if vacancies arise. Key Responsibilities Providing nutritional care to patients within specific inpatient and outpatient settings. Evaluating medical, biochemical, and nutritional information and assessing patient needs to develop and implement appropriate nutrition care plans. Assisting in the supervision of the daily work of the dietetic technician. Minimum Qualifications Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition & Dietetics. Experience: 3+ years of progressive experience in Dietetics with at least 2 years in pediatric nutrition. Licensure and Certification Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, the Credentialing Agency of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, as a Registered Dietitian. Licensure by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a licensed Dietitian.
