Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights, 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct bedside nursing care in a stepdown/PCU unit serving a diverse patient population transitioning from ICU-level care, including cardiac, respiratory, neurological, renal, and complex medical-surgical patients
• Operate within a Co-Care/Virtual Nursing Model, collaborating with a Virtual RN and CNA to deliver comprehensive patient care at a 1:4 RN-to-patient ratio
• Manage cardiac patients including those with CHF, MI, ACS, cardiac arrhythmias, pacemakers, and post-procedural cardiac conditions; respiratory patients including those requiring high-flow nasal cannula and BiPAP
• Care for trach patients (greater than 24 hours post-placement) and chronic home ventilator patients, as well as overflow neurological and renal patients
• Float to lower-acuity units, renal care, neuro, and medical-surgical units as needed to meet facility staffing needs
• Document all patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records

Required Qualifications

• Active Alaska RN license required ; pending license accepted for submission, but license must be in hand prior to offer
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Required certifications: BLS , ACLS , NIHSS
• Must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
• Weekend coverage may be more frequent than every other weekend and is subject to staffing needs
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of initial submittal; post-offer RTO requests may not be considered

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for cardiac patient populations including CHF, MI, arrhythmias, and post-procedural cardiac care
• Familiarity with respiratory management including BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, and ventilator-dependent patients
• Experience in a stepdown, PCU, or intermediate care setting
• Prior experience charting in Epic
