Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 3+ years of recent stepdown experience and telemetry skills.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a hospital
• Cardiac telemetry and MS/Tele patient population, including CVA and renal failure cases
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend (EOW) required
• Cerner EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active RN license (GA or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 3+ years of recent stepdown/PCU experience required
• Skilled in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and IV starts
• Experience with central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care/management
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care preferred
• Experience with cardiac and vasoactive drip management preferred
• Previous charge and travel experience preferred
• Copy of Driver's License required for residence verification

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and management of patients on cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Royal blue scrubs required (not provided by facility)
• Holiday coverage required with minimal RTO accepted, especially around holidays
• Local candidates residing 31-50 miles from the facility accepted at local rate
• Candidates residing less than 30 miles from the facility are not accepted
• Up to 8 hours of non-billable orientation modules required prior to start, completed via HealthStream
