Our team is committed to creating beautiful, safe and innovative furniture. Head Design Manager oversees all furniture categories—including Bedroom, Nursery, Playroom/Occasional, and Nursery Seating—and manages the designers dedicated to each area. You will work collaboratively across design, engineering, sourcing and merchandising teams to bring compelling and commercially successful designs to life.Responsibilities Demonstrate a clear design point of view, driving innovation and creativity each seasonIdentify key design trends and analyze the market to bring new aesthetics and functions to the teamCreate new design concepts with ideation, mood boards, sketching, 3D modeling and complete specsHas clear understanding of business needs and guides PD team to design accordinglyStrong knowledge of furniture engineering, construction, materials and pricingMain communicator between global offices, vendors, merchants and sourcingAbility to manage, mentor, and develop direct reportsDrives calendar to ensure all deadlines and key dates are metDetermine workload; recommend effective processes and procedures to improve workflow and resultsCriteria Minimum 7 years furniture design experienceMinimum 3 years of management experienceDegree in Design or equivalent experienceMust have an aspirational taste-level with an eye for interiors and designer aesthetic Experience designing product with pricing and construction in mindMust be technically versed in bedroom and upholstery product categories and wood finishesFull proficiency in Mac operating systems with skill excellence in Illustrator, Photoshop, CAD, and 3D rendering programsThis role requires being onsite in the San Francisco officesWe believe in People FirstWe firmly believe that working in a culture focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion spurs innovation, creates healthy and high-performing teams, and delivers superior customer experiences.
