Locum - Nurse Practitioner - Surgery - Cardiovascular Loveland CO

NP OR First Assist Opportunity

Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO is looking for an NP OR First Assist to join their cardiac surgery team!

Schedule: Full time- 4 ten-hour shifts per week. Call is one night per week and one weekend per month. September start dates- credentialing takes 3-months. Required procedures include proficient in all cardiac surgeries such as CABG with EVH and endoscopic radial harvesting, general CV/thoracic surgery, open-endoscopic coronary artery bypass surgery, congenital defects, valvular repair, aneurysm repair, lung resection, chest wall or pleural procedures, esophagus and diaphragm surgeries, and left ventricular assist devices. Insertion of arterial line.

About the position: 100% adult patients. Surgery expectation: 1-3 per day. How many physicians in your practice: 5. Mid-levels: 3 ORFA, 6 ICU, 2 Floor, 1 Clinic. Is the locum tenens physician required to supervise other healthcare providers: No. Will other thoracic surgeons be present during our locum tenens coverage: Yes. Lab Onsite: Yes. X-ray on site: Yes. Will locum tenens require hospital privileges: Yes. Credentialing time frame: 90-120 days. Total number of beds: 300. ICU beds: 12 CICUTrauma Level 1. Central referral system through doc line this goes to the physician providers not the APPS. Will locum tenens be involved in covering/supervising teaching services: No. Clinic: No. Call: Only at MCR no other hospitals in the North. Only cardiac surgery coverage is needed (not vascular).

Travel cap requirements:

• Must send provider flights and lodging information 4-weeks before start.
• Flights - Up to $750 round trip cap.
• Lodging- Reimbursed by receipt- $150/night before taxes and fees.
• Car rental- Reimbursed by receipt- up to an economy car cap.
• Mileage- IRS standard rate.

Bill rate needed for submission:

• Malpractice (must be included in the rates).
• Orientation.
• Hourly.
• Holiday hourly.
• Overtime.
• Holiday overtime.
• Night call (weekdays).
• Holiday night call.
• 24 hour on call (weekends).
• Call back.
• Holiday call back.
• Conversion fee (15k rate cap).

Requirement description:

• Board certified [REQUIRED].
• OR First Assist certification [REQUIRED].
• Active CO license [HIGHLY PREFERRED].
• Proficient in all cardiac surgeries CABG with EVH and endoscopic radial harvesting, valve surgeries, structural heart and aortic- minimum 6 months experience- note at time name clear [REQUIRED].
• Must be able to insert/remove arterial lines - note at time of name clear [REQUIRED].
• COVID vaccine - note at time of name clear [REQUIRED].
• NPDB- pulled within 30-days of presentation [REQUIRED].
• Clean background/malpractice [HIGHLY PREFERRED] - if there are hits on NPDB, please provide at time of name clear.

Certification requirements:

• BLS.
• Board certified.

State license requirements:

• Colorado.

Additional license requirements: OR First Assist. Weekend requirements: Yes. On call requirements: One night per week, and one weekend per month.
