Marketing Strategy Drafts marketing strategy and ensures alignment with Walmarts overall business strategy and brand objectives socializesmarketing strategy with other marketing leaders and associates targeted item criteria and suggests modifications based on customer insights competitorand other new information Makes recommendations regarding Walmarts brand position and ongoing maintenance plan media internal and suppliercampaigns and promotions Reviews and updates promotional planning calendar Creative Brief Development Develops creative briefs for a straightforward initiativecampaign eg backtoschool and socializes with directorsDrafts direction and key messages to promote the desired behaviors eg driving customers to additional channels Reviews target audienceobjectives budget and timeline for all initiatives within a straightforward campaign Reviews and edits creative considerations media materials tone Media Strategy and Planning Chooses the most effective media options to communicate key messages in the brief to the target audience for astraightforward campaign Reviews performance metrics to understand effectiveness of marketing channels eg how much revenue was generatedvia Pinterest compared with direct mail Aligns with AOP budget allocation to the various channels and suggests improvements based onperformance and customer analysis Provides input into media investment strategy and mix of working and nonworking spend targets Developsrelationships with key contacts at selected media channels Marketing Initiative Implementation and Management Manages most or all aspects of a straightforward imitative or campaign including media plancircular internal and supplier campaigns promotional events Implements steps to enhance sales and net profits for the entire length of the customerrelationship Drives growth in new customer acquisition customer retention and conversion rates Reviews and approves communications egemail mobile mail and social media to ensure a consistent customer experience and improved campaign effectiveness Provides creative guidanceto internalexternal agencies and ensures agency output is in line with overall brand strategy and objectives and delivers on initiative strategiesSuggests improvements to plan to enhance ROIcampaign effectiveness based on review of performance data Provides input into the brand creationand development strategy and leads the development of enduring brand messages for a straightforward campaign or product Annual Operating Plan Drafts portions of the annual operating plan AOP by analyzing data trends and competitor strategic dynamics Manages theexecution of the AOP and ensures successful implementation of multiple components Understands operational success and recommends operatingrequirements for implementation teams Budget Management Manages budgets for all aspects of a straightforward campaign and resolves budget concerns develops and assessesperformance against financial KPIs implementing adjustments to maximize Walmarts marketing investments before during and post campaign orinitiative Suggests budget tradeoffs based on knowledge of other marketingbranding prioritiesinitiatives Reconciles irregularities within the budgetand enforces financial controls Collaboration Collaborates with crossfunctional teams eg Advertising Digital Marketing eCommerce Category Marketing Creative OperationsCategory Management Site Merchandising Customer Service Supply Chain Analytics to execute on straightforward campaigns and ensureconsistent brand messages across all channels Identifies collects and shares critical information eg item info merchant intent with cross functionalteams and key stakeholders to ensure exceptional execution People Development Coaches team members and provides feedback to enhance skills knowledge and work performance Conducts performanceand career development conversations if applicable Maintains team motivation and engagement Mentors less experienced associates andmanagers Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs developing and communicating businessplans
