COMPLIANCE NOTES

• Must submit to and pass drug screening, criminal history check (including fingerprint check), and registry clearance check
• Must comply with HHSC immunization requirements
• Must complete facility- and HHSC-required training, including facility CPR
• New Employee Orientation / New Nurse Orientation (NEO/NNO) required Monday Friday, 8:00am 5:00pm, during the candidate's first month
• Start date begins only once all compliance and clearance requirements are met by the selected candidate
• Availability to begin on the first of each month
• Deadline to respond: 9/30/2026, 5:00 PM (Close of Business)
• Selection process: agency notified by email of selected candidates; WFSH's Agency Hiring Coordinator will coordinate onboarding dates/times directly with the agency and candidate

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Administers medications, immunizations, and treatments; observes individuals for unusual symptoms and reactions
• Monitors individuals' weight, diet, feedings, and vital signs; monitors for signs/symptoms of illness and uses nursing judgment to provide appropriate care, including initiating acute care plans
• Provides nursing care following the Nursing Process set forth by the Texas Board of Nursing
• Completes computer data entry and timely documentation of all reports, records, and other documentation required by HHSC, in the format specified by policy
• Complies with facility Standard Operating Procedures to meet accrediting standards, including Joint Commission Guidelines, WFSH Policy and Directives, and HHSC Standards, Rules, and Directives

REQUIREMENTS

Must-Have

• Current license/registration to practice nursing through the Texas Board of Nursing, or a state recognized through the Nurse Licensure Compact
• Minimum 2 years of experience
• At least 18 years of age
• Not excluded from providing services to individuals on Medicare or Medicaid
• Must pass drug screening and criminal history checks, including fingerprint checks and registry clearance checks
• Compliance with HHSC immunization requirements
• Completion of facility- and HHSC-required training, including facility CPR
• Compliance with all other job requirements specified by the facility
