Med-Surg / Orthopedic Registered Nurse (RN) Location: Kearney, NE Contract Type: Travel Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3x12 Nights Pay: $2,160/week Completion Bonus: $2,500 per contract (up to $7,500 after three contracts) Job Description ATC Healthcare is seeking a Med-Surg / Orthopedic Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in an acute care setting. This unit cares for post-operative orthopedic and spine patients and requires nurses who are team-oriented, flexible, and comfortable supporting a variety of med-surg level cases. Nurses must pass a required open-book skills exam during orientation. Candidates must meet travel distance requirements and cannot be actively employed with affiliated health system facilities. Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to med-surg and orthopedic post-surgical patients Care for patients with joint replacements, spine, neck, and shoulder procedures Administer medications, blood products, and IV antibiotics Monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition Collaborate with charge nurses and interdisciplinary teams Delegate tasks to nursing assistants and support staff Float to med-surg, rehab, or PCU units with med-surg acuity as needed Follow unit scheduling, weekend, and holiday rotation requirements Document all patient care in EPIC EMR Qualifications Active RN license required at submission BLS certification required Med-Surg and/or Orthopedic nursing experience required Acute care experience preferred Must pass orientation skills exam (minimum passing score required) Must meet 50-mile travel radius requirement (driver’s license used for verification) Cannot be full-time, part-time, or PRN with affiliated system facilities Artificial nails prohibited for patient care roles Must submit all required credentials at application Benefits Weekly pay with competitive rates Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) retirement plan with company match Referral bonuses for referring talented professionals into our network Flexible schedules and dedicated recruiter support About ATC Healthcare ATC Healthcare has been a leader in healthcare staffing for nearly 40 years, offering personalized placement and support to healthcare professionals nationwide.
