District Maintenance Manager

The Tone This is a full-time leadership role at JB & Associates, operating Sun Tan City and Buff City Soap stores, located in Overland Park. JB & Associates runs these stores across several states and seeks a manager to lead its facilities and equipment maintenance function. This role is crucial for ensuring every location is safe, operational, and brand-ready, by effectively managing maintenance across a growing multi-state portfolio. The TL;DR Role: Full Time Type: Full-time Location: In-person, Overland Park, KS Team: Reports to EVP, People & Operations Mission: Own the facilities and equipment maintenance function to ensure all locations are safe, operational, and brand-ready while supporting company growth. Tech Stack: Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word), work-order/maintenance management software What You’ll Actually Do Preventive Maintenance: Own the preventive maintenance program for all facilities and diverse equipment, including tanning equipment, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and production/soap-making equipment. Work Order & Budget Management: Manage the facility work-order/ticket system from intake to completion, including prioritization, tracking, reporting, and establishing/controlling the maintenance budget. Vendor & Project Oversight: Source, negotiate with, and manage outside vendors and contractors, ensuring projects and work meet scope, timeline, quality, and cost expectations. Emergency Response & Compliance: Respond to escalated and emergency facility issues for rapid resolution, while ensuring all sites meet safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards. Strategic Planning: Track equipment lifecycles and warranties to proactively recommend repair-versus-replace decisions and plan capital replacements, aligning maintenance priorities with business and customer-experience goals. The Must-Haves Background: Manager level with strong knowledge of building systems, general repairs, and equipment maintenance. Experience: Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, vendors, and multiple concurrent projects to on-time, on-budget completion. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort using work-order/maintenance management software. Skills: Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through. Excellent oral and written communication skills to work effectively with ownership, operations, trades, and peers. Ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and travel regularly across a multi-state market. Bonus: Hands-on trade experience is a plus.
