Brake Press Operator
Join a premier custom metal fabrication team delivering high-precision components to leading industrial clients. We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Brake Press Operator to set up, program, and execute precision forming operations in a modern shop environment.
Position – Brake Press Operator
Job Location – Fond du lac, WI
Starting Date – ASAP
Employment Term – Temp to hire
Employment Type – Full time
Work Hours (Shift) – 1st shift
Starting Pay –$19 to $24
Required Experience – At least 2 years of experience
Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, and operate CNC and hydraulic press brakes to form sheet metal and plate to exact customer specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering blueprints, flat pattern layouts, and GD&T symbols to determine bend sequences and tooling requirements.
- Select, install, and align correct punch/die tooling and set tonnage parameters based on bend allowances and material thickness.
- Perform first-piece and in-process dimensional checks using calipers, height gauges, protractors, and micrometers.
- Perform daily maintenance on equipment and maintain a clean, organized workstation.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2+ years of hands-on press brake setup and operation experience in metal fabrication.
- Technical Skills: Strong blueprint reading skills and standard shop math (calculating bend allowances/deductions).
- Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with CNC controls (e.g., Amada, Trumpf, Bystronic, or Cincinnati).
