Brake Press Operator

Join a premier custom metal fabrication team delivering high-precision components to leading industrial clients. We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Brake Press Operator to set up, program, and execute precision forming operations in a modern shop environment.

Position – Brake Press Operator

Job Location – Fond du lac, WI

Starting Date – ASAP

Employment Term – Temp to hire

Employment Type – Full time

Work Hours (Shift) – 1st shift

Starting Pay –$19 to $24

Required Experience – At least 2 years of experience

Responsibilities

Set up, adjust, and operate CNC and hydraulic press brakes to form sheet metal and plate to exact customer specifications.
Read and interpret engineering blueprints, flat pattern layouts, and GD&T symbols to determine bend sequences and tooling requirements.
Select, install, and align correct punch/die tooling and set tonnage parameters based on bend allowances and material thickness.
Perform first-piece and in-process dimensional checks using calipers, height gauges, protractors, and micrometers.
Perform daily maintenance on equipment and maintain a clean, organized workstation.

Qualifications

Experience: 2+ years of hands-on press brake setup and operation experience in metal fabrication.
Technical Skills: Strong blueprint reading skills and standard shop math (calculating bend allowances/deductions).
Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with CNC controls (e.g., Amada, Trumpf, Bystronic, or Cincinnati).
