About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required License: Must have an active New York Single State RN license. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required. PALS and TNCC preferred. Must-Have: - EPIC experience required - IV therapy skills including blood product administration, central line care, and phlebotomy - Emergency care experience with adult and pediatric patients - Ability to manage ventilators and perform cardiac monitoring Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Room. The shift consists of four 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. The contract length is 13 weeks. Weekend availability is required for every other weekend. The nurse will need to float within their skill set. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:5, focusing on adults and geriatrics. Special equipment includes a Bair hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment. The role involves the management of emergency situations, including trauma, CVA, and cardiac events. Nurses will need to adhere to isolation precautions and perform triage duties. The emergency department operates 24/7 and features a centralized layout for rapid patient care. The facility is recognized for its advanced diagnostic technology and specialized services. Availability during holidays on an every other basis is also required. First-time travelers are accepted for this position. Nurses should have experience with various emergency diagnoses and procedural sedation administration. A working knowledge of continuous IV sedation and management of dysrhythmias is necessary. Floating may be required within the skill set of the nurse.
